Sierra Lakes 2011

We had our "social hour" with breakfast this time as we intended to depart immediately for Lucille's BBQ in Rancho Cucamonga right after the round (can't pass up an opportunity to eat at Lucilles). I really like this golf course but it did seem to baffle me when it came time to make short putts. Three times I converted a two foot par putt into a double bogey by missing the par putt and then the short come backer. I was feeling real bad about that until I ran into Ray Allen out in the parking lot. He attributed his putting problems to not realizing that there is a huge mountain just behind the golf course. That sounded great so I immediately adopted it as my excuse and felt a whole lot better. The other interesting feature of the course is that on many holes you have to guess which club will work for the very uphill shots to the green. Overall, I thought the course was in very good condition. I had a fun round--except for those missed short putts. Carolyn had her best round in many moons, giving her some encouragement to stick with the game.
